Voice Description
My specialty is with extreme oddball characterizations, including cartoon voices and off the wall characters a la "Robin Williams" style. I've performed in improv comedy troupes for forty years from my college years until now & can create a bizarre character at the drop of a hat.
I'm adept with straight forward professional presentations, as well, having being in marketing & sales for thirty years, including sales & promotional management, writing
& recording commercials & presentations and speaking in front of large audiences. I've written a sales training manual & trained sales reps on phone presentations.
I've written & presented my own monologues & poetry (both comic & dramatic) on stage & on radio.

My Voice Experience
On a recent TV commercial shoot for a casino, the director insisted upon high energy at the slot machines. Soon, it became apparent to him that I was in overdrive. Thus, he amended his direction to: "More energy, except for Ira!." At one point, I was almost literally making love to my slot machine nearly orgasmic.
I'm constantly inventing new characterizations for roles I've performed throughout my acting career, sometimes having multiple character roles. Not counting the bizarre characters I create for our improv shows, I've been a lecher, a prospector, a beggar, a derelict, a sleazy stripper manager, a mad scientist, a child, a theater manager, a quirky librarian, a financial advisor, a guru, a mentally ill math professor, a doctor, a butler, a pick pocket, a cowboy, a dying patient, a philosophy professor/mentor, a quirky gangster, a king, an aimless philosopher, a mayor, a drag queen and much more.
Both at AAA Auto Club in the New Orleans area & with a Louisiana-based telecommunications company, I designed training manual & procedures, wrote sales presentations & oriented and trained new sales people. I, also, wrote & recorded a radio ad.
I write my own monologues & poetry and have performed them on stage & for radio.
My Training
Carnegie Mellon University: Physics major, psychology minor; started my own improv comedy group & wrote my first play. Promoted our comedy group on radio ads & on a variety of campus locations. Did charity volunteer voice overs.
Lamar University: Math major, English & Education minors; B.S. in math + teaching certification math & English. Acted in numerous plays & dinner theatre; stage managed & performed in campus talent show; mc'd at a variety of events.
In New Orleans, served 25 years on a volunteer Board of Directors associated with Tulane University, including promoting & announcing at a variety of events & serving as Development Chairman in fundraising efforts. I managed a market research field service, wrote some of my own instruments and trained interviewers on study specifics for intercept, phone, canvassing, focus groups & professional interviews.
Acting in New Orleans, I performed in dinner theater, community theater, rep theatre, movies, commercials, Shakespeare in the Park, Contemporary Arts Center, improv troupe, two murder mystery troupes & a Friday midnight television show.
