Voice Description
Warm and trustworthy; some UK characterisation available, also North American.
Upbeat, authoritative when required, contemplative and thoughtful for more philosophical pieces. I also have a richness of tone that can sell chocolates ....
I can also tackle humorous scripts well.
The richness of my voice lends itself particularly to documentary narration.

My Voice Experience
My clients have included those for large projects such as Smiths Industries and Channel 4, a French language tourist film for Greenlight Productions, down to small corporates for the likes of Boston Productions, Mannomedia NY, On Cue Productions, Dory Productions, SO Productions, the Haslar Submarine Museum, and all sizes between.
Some of these have been recorded in production studios, but I now have my own on-site facility, which enables a much faster turn-round and a tight quality control, as well as a ready facility for making any changes.
My Training
I am originally a musician, both composer and performer; my first voice-over job in fact came from a corporate video for which I was doing the music - I stepped into suddenly vacant shoes with some success. Since then I have had a variety of work.
I enjoy language and its use, and I am not fazed by technical terms or foreign names or words, which means that I can give an intelligent and informed read for most projects.
My Studio Equipment
My own studio is based on a Cubase 4.5 computer setup with a Mackie Pro Control Surface. I use a large-diaphragm Audio Technica microphone and a tube pre-amp with a range of compression and limiting devices, both hardware and software based.
Additional Skills
From time to time I produce creative writing - I have a great interest in language, particularly English, and pride myself on having a good command of vocabulary. This leads to a greater understanding of even the most technical and esoteric scripts.
I also have a small number of pupils (as a private music teacher) and I have a special interest in communicating in a teaching/ training situation.
