I am the Production Director of a major market radio station. I voice at least 40% of the commercials that run on our station and have worked with companies like Pandora to do some of their imaging and commercial voice overs as well. During the course of my duties here, I have had to play the part of (voice over) a Sumo Wrestler, a gay tourist, a cowboy, a man with aids, a male with a huge unit etc... There isn't anything I can't do or sound like... well, almost anything. However, I'm willing to try to sound like anything - at least once.
:)
I've been in plays, aced every Speaking/Speech class I took in college, including my "Voice for Broadcasting" class. I've worked in radio for the past 5 years as a Production Director and On-Air talent.
I have use of a full vocal studio that is completely air tight. I normally record directly into the audi software Sound Forge off of a Studio Condensor Mic that is channeled through a Symetrix compressor. I produce most of the spots using software called Ableton Live.
We have several clients that voice their own spots so I am often in the "coaching" position when it comes to guiding people who have never voiced a spot in their life. I have an impeccable record of getting people to come out of their shell through encouragement and positive guidance. I also am a looney-toon of sorts, so being care-free, allows me to help direct others in being less self conscious.
I also have been in entertainment for about 20 years now - dating back to my time in plays as a teen to hosting huge events, to promoting raves to you name it.
I've pretty much dabled in everything.
