My Voice Experience
My voiceover career has been born out of my acting career and since becoming a professional performer in 1984 I have in recent times taken up more voice over work. For many plays and shows i have been cast in i have also been asked to record the voice over for a particular show whether it be a narration of part of the plot or the voice of a puppet etc. This experience i feel was my basic training in voice work as it is completely diferent to performing as a character where you will have a costume and physical qualities. As a voice performer you rely and have to create a belivable character with voice alone.
In recent times i have done voice overs for corporate companies as Tom Baker providing spoof Little Britain commercials.
I usually record in the particular companie's studio but for smaller jobs i have recorded them at home and sent them to the client
My Training
I trained at Midlesex Polytechnic on the Diploma in Dramatic Art and whilst there i opted as one of my choices to study radio work. This included recording short plays etc.
I have also undergone training with Big Mouth productions as well as various accent and voice related classes and workshops at the actors centre.
My Studio Equipment
As stated i have recorded some voice work at home. For this i use audacity software on my computer which i can send in either wav or mp3 format.
