My Voice Experience

I began my training in radio broadcasting at the age of 13. While in college, I began working in radio full time as an on-air talent, ad copywriter/producer and reporter. I made the jump to TV and spent the better part of 10 years in front of the camera as a weather anchor. I am now back in radio, providing weather forecasts for stations across the Upper Midwest.

My Training

I received most of my training at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. The campus radio station, KQAL-FM, is a unique station and affords students many opportunities to explore the many facets of the industry. I also received professional coaching during my early years as a profession DJ, and now have resumed receiving part-time coaching...as well as providing it to high school and college age kids looking to get into broadcasting.

Additional Skills

Having worked in the industry for so many years, there were of course, times when I was not employed in my chosen field. I have worked many different jobs...from gas station attendant to computer sales and technical support. This gives me many frames of reference to fall back on and could prove valuable in doing voice over work for a wide range of industries.
