Voice Description

My voice is clear and clean and my natural accent is RP (received pronunciation) so it can sound very formal and professional. I have also had a lot of experience in stage acting and musical theatre so can also sound upbeat, energetic, fun, and can do accents. I also have experience singing classical, pop, folk and rock so can alter the sound of my voice depending on the style of work. My acting experience in training has provided me with the ability to alter the sound of my voice, be it age, class, different moods and feels, and various dialects.

My Voice Experience

I have recorded narrative script for two performance pieces, one in standard english and one in general american, as well as acappella singing for one of the pieces.
I have recorded two musical demos, including pop, folk and musical theatre songs. I have recorded phone messages for a company, involving a very formal and well-spoken delivery. I have also recorded spoken and sung vocals for various trance tracks.

My Training

I have an AVCE in Performing Arts from Sussex Downs College, and a BA (Hons) in Dance and Theatre Performance, from Doreen Bird College.
I have learnt about recording voice through experience, and have gained more and more knowledge through working hard and being inquisitive whilst working (when appropriate).
I have had a lot of experience in speaking and singing live throughout my training, in a huge variety of plays, musicals and concerts. I am also currently writing, recording and performing in collaboration with a trance producer.

My Studio Equipment

I have no proper equipment, only a Macbook, so can record basic voice.

Additional Skills

I have a lot of experience in using my voice in many different ways. I have worked with directors who throw criticism, corrections, suggestions at me and have been expected to alter my performance immediately, and so I have become very hard-working, co-operative, quick, thick-skinned, and am therefore very good at picking up corrections and applying them straight away. I can hear subtleties in the voice and have a deep understanding of the way the speaking and singing voice functions, and can therefore alter my voice and make changes easily and quickly. I have had experience in many different genres and so am open to doing any kind of work, I count any experience as valuable.
