My Voice Experience
During the first 19 years of my life when someone would ask me what was the one thing I would change about myself, my first answer would always be "my voice." Most would find that very interesting, but it was always something I was insecure of until I realized how to change it.
I entered my freshman year of college eyeing the campus radio station from afar. Broadcasting was something I had always dreamed of...I would stay awake to listen to my favorite dj's and then force my sister to play "radio" with me in our small toy room as a young kid.
Sophomore year I took the big leap - I got my own radio show and fell in love with the hobby. Keep in mind - during this time I still hated hearing myself, and still hated the thought of leaving people voice mail messages with "my voice."
Eventually, I began making my voice a bit deeper and soon started getting compliments. I still have a "radio voice" and an "everyday" voice that most of my friends get a big kick out of. After 5 years in the broadcasting industry I can proudly say that it's my voice paying my bills and it's now what I love the most about myself!
