My Voice Experience

I come from a long line of singers (and talkers), and have been strongly encouraged to be vocal all my life. My dad always put emphasis on projection - he said a lot of people can sing, but not everyone can project without a microphone and make it sound good. I started impersonating various cartoon characters from a young age, my dad used to compare me to Mel Blanc. I discovered my own wide range of voices and have been using them for my own devices in education and work, along with entertainment. I'm extremely auditory, and pride myself on being able to identify voice artists without being told who they are. I am an accomplished mimicker, I can do voices and noises - usually the first time. I have a very clear voice with which I am able to express emotion, and I can read without sounding like I'm reading. When it comes to my voice, there isn't much I can't do.

I've never had any formal voice training other then choir and band in school where I had personal lessons with our instructor - most of my training comes from life experience and family.

Additional Skills

I'm fun and easy to get along with in any group - I love working with people and I love working with my voice. I don't mind following a script and I don't mind shooting from the hip. I don't know how to settle for "good enough" - I take pride in my work. I also don't believe in giving up - if I can't get it the first time, I will get it the next time.
