As a performer, I've used my voice (and voice talent) in a number of ways:
* As a storyteller (for children and families), I have developed a slew of quirky animal voices. In particular, my current favorite is a young gecko who has a lot to learn. Don't get him confused with the Geiko gecko -- that dude has a different gig! My gecko is young but learns from direct experiences...
* I was a voice over talent for the role of a teenage girl for pilot of a television show, Kabby's Tree.
I have taken a number of classes related to voice and performing:
* Voice training with the Denver Center Theater Academy
* Numerous and ongoing on-camera workshops
* On-going singing classes with a local voice coach and performer in her own right, Christy Wessler
* Several storytelling workshops with a well known, Front Range storytelling master (or mistress? lol), Susan marie Frontczak
I would be characterized as energetic and as an "artist scholar." I do the research that is necessary to imbue my characters with a liveliness that is engaging.
In addition, I love to drum. My favorite style of drumming is the Middle Eastern hand drum, the doumbek.
I also teach and perform music/ movement
hythm programs for children through seniors, including teacher workshops, hand drum classes and facilitating drum circles.
And, in a former life, I also acquired a BA and MS in Education.
