My Voice Experience

I was the "Voice of the Westminster Mall" on their telephone answering machine recordings that greeted the customers for a few years, and have always been asked to read in church.

I later studied voice acting at Del Mar Media Arts and have performed English and Spanish VO. Most recently I've been the voice of several Spanish toys, with clients requesting my voice specifically.

I also am fluent in the "medical language" and can effortlessly pronouce any medical term or medication.

My Training

I have a Bachelor of Music degree from CSULB with a concentration in music performance. I am a mezzo-soprano with a wide range, and can sing from tenor to soprano with ease.

I studied medical terminology at Long Beach City College and have worked as a medical transcriptionist for more than a decade.

I attended Del Mar Media Arts in Irvine, California and took courses on voice acting, commercial (on-camera) acting, English dialects, ear training/TelePrompTer, narration, and took acting workshops as well.

Additional Skills

I love to read and to sing - I feel the reading increases my exposure to our language and its rhythms, and my music keeps my voice in good order. I am careful with my voice and health so my voice is always ready to go.

I have worked in sales and have a great memory; I can retain quite a bit in mind to repeat back, having learned to hold medical dictation in mind while transcribing it back. This has been excellent training for ear-bud VO.
