My Voice Experience
I have experience doing professional voice recording for a multi-line phone system at a locally owned independent lumber company. I did all of their system recordings (i.e. "For Debbie, press 1", etc.) as well as their after-hours greeting message in 2001.
In 2005, I did the female voice-overs for Quake II: Lost Marine, a single-player modification for Doom 3. After seeing the project ad for a female voice, I applied by e-mailing the head of the project, Thearrel 'Kiltron' McKinney, telling him about my Brown Lumber voice experience. He then sent me my lines and I recorded them at home and e-mailed them to him to use. For this job, I had to sound electronic and also somewhat short and choppy for him to turn my voice into the computer voice that played on an intercom system in the game.
In 2006, Thearrel 'Kiltron' McKinney referred me to Jim Kern for his flash animation project "Dead Souls."
For this project, I did the female voice overs for the female cop, Sharon, and a random female voice overheard by another character. This project was a lot of fun as I tested different voice levels, tones, speeds, and emotions as my directions and lines varied. For example, "Sharons last words. In a [angry] teasing tone; You shattered my soul, (pause) and now you killed my wife
" With lines such as that, I really got to stretch my imagination and have fun with the script.
My Training
I do not have any formal training at this time. I started doing my voice overs for fun and am looking to do it professionally.
