My Voice Experience

I've worked primarily in long-form, reading books on tape for the Jewish Heritage for the Blind in NYC and have done a few chapters for Librivox. I've done several jobs with telephony including the out-going messages for local companies and I recorded tele-seminars for Chase Manhattan Bank.

My Training

I have an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. Over the years, I've studied theater, film/tv, improv and voiceover.

While in college, I did several musicals where I learned how to control my voice. I don't have a beautiful singing voice, but I was cast over and over again because I understood that it was less about the sound of my voice and more about the ability to "tell a story" with the song.

My Studio Equipment

I have my own studio. I use an iMac (OS 10.5.7), Apogee Duet, AKG XLS mic and Logic Express.

Additional Skills

I've done temporary work for most of my life. Because of that, I've worked in many different industries from an unknown pharmaceutical company on Long Island, to Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in Manhattan.

I have knowledge of many different types of businesses and have had to interact with everyone from receptionists to CEOs. Because of this, I've learned how to adapt my demeanor in order to effectively communicate with anyone on the food chain.

I see voiceover as a form of storytelling. In order to be a great storyteller, you have to know your audience.
