My Voice Experience
I have excellent telephone manner, and have recorded answer-machine messages for companies both here in the UK and America.
While travelling in the states I would often be asked to record people's answermachine messages when staying with new friends and old.
I recently completed a job in a call centre on outbound calls, I would have at least three people a day telling me that my voice was extremely pleasant to listen to, and that it had helped my cause in persuading them to the product I was 'selling'.
I have done both singing and narrating before a large live audience, where I will use the warmer, more expressive tones of my relatively low voice.
At university a large part of my course was making presentations, this would often be in front of a full class and two tutors. The final presentation I did was on scientifically delicate information, with latin species names. I presented in front of a panel of students, and external experts. I recieved over 90%, and I am told that half of those marks come from presentations skills.
My Training
I have had no formal training in voice over work. I believe I make up for this simply as it is other people that suggested I tried this kind of work, for several people to take note of an aspect of you enough to suggest you make a living from it is unusual. I have always been amongst the top preformers at work in call centres, I also feel that this experience was in a way a form of training. We would often have to read scripts, and make them 'sound human' which was very challenging.

Additional Skills
I am aware that voice over acting is not just about talking, any one can talk. Its about emphasis, pitch, tone, speed, and also about silence. Too many people think to make a good speech you simply need to talk, I feel the first consideration should be to the audience, you have to use a voice that will appeal to who is listening, or they won't even hear your words.
