My Voice Experience
I lucked out and fell into work that I love--radio! Through many years in classroom education and non-profit positions, I gained experience in public speaking and presentations to small and large groups, television and radio guest appearances. After radio interviews I was always complimented on my great "radio voice" (this after years of being told "you give good phone!"). In 2008, I got the rare opportunity to re-invent myself and found my way to Fun91.9 and 95.3 FM, small-market radio stations. My on-air persona is "Honey G;" I have a M-F evening drive-time show, do Live Broadcasts, and fill in as required on other shows on both the Classic Rock/Pop station and the Contemporary Country station. It turns out that I really enjoy production, from the raw voice track to editing and full mixing of final audio tracks for radio. I am currently the only in-house female voice for our two stations.
My Training
Masters in Special Education (didn't know this would be preparation for working with DJ's!), BA in Elementary Education. Since 2008, on-air radio and live broadcasts, commercial spot production including voice, music beds, and special effects. Learned how to create special effects for use when the perfect sound was not in the library.
