Voice Description

I have a loud, clear, and decidedly "Texan" voice. It's a little on the deeper side, and projects very well. You should know though that it is apparently inaudible to children, as mine don't listen to a thing I say.

My Voice Experience

Lead singer in several bands, rock, blues, country, and folk. Some short radio spots for an independent music store I used to work for, and some TV spots for my hometown's "Stay in School" program in the late '80's. I got out of TV because my hair looked ridiculous (it was the 80's!), but rest assured my voice sounded great. And as if you cared, I also had the lead in my high school play. These most of my voice workouts happen during audience interaction when I play live music. I've been doing that at least two, and as many as seven nights a week at times, for the last ten years, and almost as frequently before that.

My Training

Training? At my experience level? None whatsoever. Could be why I don't get much work for that sort of thing. But hey, it's free to post here so I figured what have I got to lose.

Additional Skills

I am a great singer in a variety of styles. When I sing, my voice is a smooth bluesy baritone, just a little raspy, with a hint of Texas accent. Ok it's more than a hint. I can sing other ways too, but I'll tell everybody it wasn't me, and it will cost you extra. I am also a self proclaimed "fantastic guitarist" in a wide variety of styles. Most of my audiences seem to share this opinion.
