My Voice Experience

Graeme is a busy voice actor, with considerable experience in commercial and broadcast narration. He is presently the voice for the Kia Canada national television campaign, and can be heard every day (almost) on local, regional and national TV and radio commercials across Canada and the US. He was the narrator of the 2010 Discovery Channel series "Breaking Point".

My Training

Graeme has trained with the best in the voiceover business. He has completed the commercial acting coursework with Nancy Wolfson in Los Angeles, and also continues to hone his skills with Doriane Elliott in New York City and Elley Ray Hennessy in Toronto. He has also trained with the legendary commercial, audiobook and animation actor Pat Fraley in Hollywood. Currently enrolled in acting/improv program at the Second City Toronto Training Center.

My Studio Equipment

Acoustically treated home studio with Neumann U87ai, Sennheiser MKH 416 and Advanced Audio CM-47 condenser microphones; DW Fearn VT-1 vacuum tube and custom-made Neve-style solid state microphone preamps; M-audio BX5a studio monitors; a Mackie mixer; an Echo AudioFire 8 audio interface; and a MacBook with Pro Tools 10 and Twisted Wave software for capturing voice tracks. I also have a JK Audio Broadcast Host digital phone patch. I take pride in the quality of my recordings.

Dry voice tracks are generally provided via email or ftp in the specified audio format. Generally tracks are delivered gently compressed and normalized to -3 dBU. If processing of recorded files is required in some other way, please advise.

Auditions are sometimes recorded using an Apogee Mic, an iPad and a Port-a-Booth Pro when I'm traveling.

Additional Skills

A 25 year veteran of the marketing business. I used to sit on the other side of the glass, and therefore understand the greater business needs behind the voiceover.

Highly literate and informed, can easily read complex narration scripts or literature with authority and ease. Understands and delivers nuance in pronunciation and syntax.
