Voice Description
I have a soothing voice - warm and resonating which is an excellent match to perform narrations and presentations among several other projects. I know I have a distinctive voice, one that is considered unique. However, I can convey a range of emotions. My voice would be a first-rate fit for voicemail, phone systems, and on-hold messages as well as presentations and training. I believe that my voice would also be a great fit for audiobooks and documentaries.

My Voice Experience
From the time I can remember, people I didnt even know would come up to me and enthusiastically remark about my voice. Yes, I have been singing all my life, but this was specifically about the tone, pitch and how my voice could project. As I have been told, there could be a hundred people in the room, but you can hear my voice above the clamor, not necessarily because it is so loud, but because it is so distinctive. It is a voice you will never forget. I have experience in giving lectures, facilitating workshops and speaking to many personnel as a mental health and communications professional. It was at my job as a community relations and outreach coordinator that I found myself in the position to record a public service announcement in a recording studio at KOMO TV the ABC affiliate in Seattle. There, the technical staff remarked about the quality of my voice. The experience of finally hearing a professional recording was a feeling of elation and since then I wanted to pursue voiceover work. But here I was thinking how do I even begin this process? It seemed far-fetched to say the least. If I could be given a chance, I know that producers would not be disappointed.
My Training
I have a BA in English from Bryn Mawr College (a liberal arts womens college near Philadelphia, PA) and a M.Ed. in Human Development and Counseling Psychology from Harvard University Graduate School of Education. I believe that my background in writing and psychology prepares my well to perform voiceovers. I have utilized and honed my writing skills in the field of communications, creating and developing materials for marketing and community relations projects. Not only can I write and speak well, due to my unique skill set in psychology I can get inside the mind of the character. I have taken drama and music classes and have sang in choirs most of my life. I have many years of diverse experience speaking in front of an audience such as giving lectures, facilitating workshops and speaking to many personnel as a mental health and communications professional. Thus, I am very comfortable in front of an audience using my voice.
