Voice Description

As a hypnotist I can provide the kind of voice tone, inflection and volume most suited to project at hand. While doing trance work, the range of dynamics over the course of an hour session can be quite remarkable.

I have been told my voice would be welcome to listen to for narrations and can also do smooth and professional.

I have a particularly forceful vocal pattern by nature with clear enunciation.

I have an ear for tonality from my years performing music and can shape my presentation to the needs of the projec

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I have had an ear for accents my whole life. When in the presence of a particular native speaker I can
"pick it up" and without being offenisve to the native speaker(not obviously and irritatingly imitating the speaker but rather accepted).

I do British Isles best of the bunch unless you count my version of Charlie Farquharson's vocal antics.

Flexibility is the word that comes to mind most.

My Voice Experience

Absolute beginner at voice over. Many years ago when I was fully employed as a correctional officer for the provine of Ontario, I had exposure on a daily basis to the voices of the world- who came in an out of my custody. I set about to get in "verbal rapport" with these folks in a respectful way that would ease our somewhat stressful interchange.
Over the course of 20 years that is a very large linguistic library to call upon.
A previous companion, in the film industry, had wanted to introduce me to the voice recording industry, but I declined because I was fully employed for the provincial government.

I friend the other day over coffee brought up the suggestion of "using that wonderful and flexible voice of yours".

The suggestion stuck and here I am writing this introduction bit.

My Training

I am a semi pro musician and perform songs in a variety of format which suit my vocal power and range.

One person in the audience called it "channeling the original artist". With my hypnosis training I can get "inside" the song and then build a bridge from there to the audience.

I am known for singing songs that people want to hear, rather than performing songs I want to sing. It is about the needs of the audience, first and formost.

Considering that I have been performing musically since I was 14, there is a fair bit of experience there to draw on.

I was first exposed to Talking Books from a blind mentor of my in my teens who would let me know when his latest "loaner" would come in so I could schedule time to hear it with him.

I am a life long auditory learner. At one point I had listened to and learned most of the personal performance and achievment section of a local audio rental store and was actually considering buying the outlet.

I am certified as a trainer of NLP (New Code) and a certified Ericksonian hypnotist.

My Studio Equipment

I have connections to several locally operated studios in and around Hamilton that do commercial quality recording.

I would of course defer to their engineering knowledge in the same way that I would were I recording a music CD with them.

I would be considered a "voice artist" first and formost.

Audio engineering is something that, up until now, I have left to others.

I did some apprentice work with the best live sound man in Hamilton for a couple of years, but could not be at all of the main events.

Additional Skills

I have people skills developed over years of government services in a highly stressful environment(a detention centre). I have management skills developed in the same environment.

I have also spent some years in the subtrades and so have access to verbal patterns of "the working man".
I fitted in well and been a valuable asset whereever I have worked.

Payment Methods Accepted

• Personal checks, cashier's checks, or money orders in my local currency
