My Voice Experience

ok the whale with indigestion kick started it all - I was the whale and had eaten too many fish - and children! and then I was asked to narrate the Audio CD for The Rainbow Fish.
It wasn't a commercial project Cd,s were for participants on a theatre residency with Bamboozle Theatre Company Leicester.A perfectionist I have a natural ability, a versatile voice styles and a voice people listen to. No ego.Just a demo to kickstart...

My Training

My formal education is in Theatre, performing Arts , However my first proffessional job Nottingham Playhouse was at age 15,Then Youth Theatre etc. Edinburgh festival played Nurse in Romeo and Juliet at 19, my comic timing, and endless amounts of Bawdiness meant I had the part. Workshops during training: - David Glass mime Artist Extra-odinaire.Trestle Theatre Company. Pip Productions Roland Miller performance Artist( Gave me my 1st job!) learned how important the body is in connection with the energy and sound of Characters.
Radio Plays were part of my training,I solely directed and produced (with team) a play for radio.Also edited, filmed and animation , drama , and commercials as part of training.I am an actor, professsional Storyteller and this has enabled me to create live characters and explore voice in its most powerful essence - energy, intonation,intention, character, and circumstance.After a course at BBC Radio Leicester I was bold enough to ask for free time in the production studio and a engineer to create my voice Demo. Done ! I have been working as an Artist for many years the voice over industry is a new challenge that will intergrate all my skills not to mention putting my many accents,silly voices, characters and training and utilising my vocal qualities in a specific way.

Additional Skills

I am a Storyteller, mainly for children and therefore love children's books engaging young people and creating characters, roles to engage them. Theatre Workshop facilitator, a keen interest in aromatherapy and massage, which I use in my work with Bamboozle Theatre company who a dynamic, sensory musical, theatre experience for young people with severe and profound learning disabilities. I respond well to Direction, have aquired great improvisational skills. My voice and skills aquired in movement and relaxation tecniques and relaxed qualities have been key to the above mentioned work.
