Glen Edwards Bio
Glen Edwards has been in broadcasting for almost 25 years. Glen started in radio in 1985 at the age of 17, as a co-host of a morning show in Sacramento, California at KHYL 101.1 FM, where he performed his nearly 100 character voices and learned the art of radio. By 1990 he had worked for two stations in Las Vegas, Nevada 96.3 KKLZ Classic Rock, and KJUL 104.3 FM, Light Rock. In 1990, back in Sacramento, he earned a #1 position in the radio ratings for his 7pm-Midnight Lights Out show playing Smooth Jazz on KQPT 100.5 FM The Point. Glen then shifted gears as ownership changed at the Smooth Jazz station and worked again in the Classic Rock format for the legendary 98.5 KZAP, where again, ownership changed and the station flipped formats and call letters to KNCI Fresh Country 98-5. Glen survived the format change to work late nights, but decided to move to Minneapolis to try something new. Having friends already living in the Twin Cities helped him ease into a 3-year stint at KMJZ Smooth Jazz 104.1 FM as the afternoon drive host of the Smooth Ride Home and the stations Commercial Production Director and web site designer. Again, ownership changes killed Smooth Jazz 104.1 in September 1998. Picking right up, Glen went to work for Public Radio MusicSource researching music requests for a national audience. In August of 1999, MusicSource became an internet-only service, and Glen went to work for Target Corporation in their E-Commerce division, handling customer service at night for Target and doing mid-days at KLBB 1400am in Minneapolis. Moving to Phoenix, Arizona in February, 2000, Glen worked as the mid-day host at KYOT Smooth Jazz 95.5 FM, The Coyote. Glen also helped out Power92 KKFR FM and KFYI 910am serving as Production Director. In March 2001, Glen returned to Minneapolis after staff lay-offs at KYOT. Moving back to the Twin Cities provided the opportunity for recording studio work with two long-time friends. Glens small production company, glenvox voice services, is the voice of Twin City Bridal Association and The Ordway Theater . Glen makes his home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and enjoys live music and karaoke.
