Voice Description

My natural speaking voice is probably best described as sarcastic. I have a naturally deep, laid back sounding voice which some also consider to be tough. I found I can also sound very cute and sweet like a kitten when I want to. My friends find my impression of a chipmunk to be most amusing. I can sound sexy or just downright dirty when provoked. I have been know to do impressions of southern accents, slang, Italian mob bosses, British actors, and nasal whiners. I love to sing and have been a vocal performance student for 7 years. I have done impressions for singers like Alanis Morrisette, cartoon characters like Peter and Lois Griffin from Family Guy, Eric Cartman from South Park, and Animal from the Muppet Babies. I can sound like my cats occasionally.

I have taken language classes in German, Italian, and Japanese, and I am quite capable of correct pronunciation for those languages. I was born in New York City but grew up in California, so I can distinguish between a California/Unnaccented dialect and a New York accent since I used to be teased for having a thick New York accent. I don't really speak with an accent any more, but I can still bring it back when asked. I think I use my voice mostly for fun, but I can maintain in a professional working environment as well.

I have worked in the retail industry for about three years, so I am required to speak calmly, clearly and warm and inviting to my customers. When needed I can offer lengthy, informative, and comprehendable explanations.

In short, I believe I have a very wide ranged voice to offer the voice talent industry.

My Voice Experience

I have been a singing vocal student for 7 years now, but I have enjoyed singing my whole life. I sing almost every where I go. In college, I was a music major with vocal performance emphasis.

I have also taken several classes in chorus and drama throughout high school and college. I have plenty experience being on the stage in choral and dramatic performances for local theater, mostly for Davis Senior High School. I have participated in a few vocal karaoke competitions at anime conventions for two years including FanimeCon and Anime Expo. The highest placement I have received in karaoke competiton is Second, but I aim to get first place this year. At Anime Expo 2005 Karaoke Competiton, I was approached by a representative from a small studio in the San Francisco Area that produces Ren'Ai games. They came to me expressing interest in my voice for song recording and voice acting purposes.

In September 2005, I recorded a vocal CD of songs created by various anime/video game composers and artists as a gift for my boyfriend, but I also use that as a sample of my vocal work. I would like to record another CD this year with the help of my good friends. I do NOT use these to promote my own financial gain.

Additional Skills

I also have skills in performing arts related to dance and creativity. I have worked in retail, so I have had lots of hands on experience in talking to lots of people of various backgrounds.

I think my voice is the most important quality I possess. I think it helps people clearly define who I am as a person. I feel that my voice can be very useful because my most important goal for my voice is to move a person and make them feel exactly what I feel.
