Its a difficult job finding just the right person to record your voice overs. You want someone who understands you and your business and/or your project. You want someone with experience who can interpret a script. You try desperately to find just the right voice that will fit your particular project.
I believe that while you are busy running your business my voice can "work" for you.
I bring a lot of experience to the table. I have worked in the news industry. I was a reporter for WKAR-radio in East Lansing, Michigan, where I covered local news. Then I was a reporter for WJIM-radio, in Lansing, Michigan where I covered the Capitol beat, had a weekly editorial on air and did live on- the -hour updates.
I worked my way up to news reporting at WILX-TV, In Lansing, where I covered everything and anything I was assigned to. Also did my own editing.
I also worked at an advertising agency in Battle Creek, Michigan called the
Zorbo Company. We would provide printed material as well as videos and radio commercials. We specialized in giving clients a sales package presentation. This involved a day or two where the sales force could get away to a selected location, listen to motivational speakers and find ways to improve their work and their relationships. We would video tape everything as well as provide pre-edited material for the meeting. After the show was over we put together a video package for the work force to keep.
I did a lot of writing for the agency, as well as voice overs when needed. We worked with such clients as Bill Mar, State Farm, the Red Cross and other local businesses. It required a lot of preparation and creativity and I know I learned a lot.
I bring all this experience to you plus a passion for producing voice overs. After taking the Voices for All Masterclass I set up a studio in my home. I take pride in my work and am strictly professional.
My most recent voice over work involves promoting a new theatre in Battle Creek.
One of my demos is a commercial for them. I have done several spots for them
and have enjoyed helping them bring professional theatre to our city. I record
these commercials at a radio station in town.
I have a AA in Journalism from Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek.
I have a BA in Telecommunications from Michigan State University. Most recently I graduated from the Voices for All Training School for voice over artists(out of New York City)
Through my education I have learned many things helpful in voice overs, including interpreting a script, taking direction from producers and directors, working with different equipment in different studios.
I have taken my fair share of acting and theatre classes as well. This is very useful experience in doing voice overs. I have performed in several plays at our local civic theatre in Battle Creek. The most recent was The Unexpected Guest by Agatha Christie. I played Miss Bennett.
I acted in "Down by the Riverside", a play by Washington Productions, Inc, out of Kalamazoo, Michigan. This was part of a celebration our city held to honor Sojourner Truth, who lived and died in Battle Creek. I was cast as a slave owners wife. Also had to sing together with the entire crew on this. This play was seen by thousands at our Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek.
I have a home studio with which I can record voiceovers. I have a Digidesign MBox 2 with Protools. I have the ADK A51-DLX Microphone with Shure popscreen. I can provide good, quality voice overs anywhere. I can send them to you as audio files via email or via regular mail on a CD. I will not send them to you unless I feel I have done the best possible voice over I can do.
I have done a lot of writing in my day both as a news reporter and at the advertising agency. I feel good about my writing skills. I started out in Journalism and then switched over to Telecommunications.
I also have written and produced (along with doing the voice overs) for a program at our local AccessVision (local cable show). It was called "Gems in the Creek". I interviewed people who have made a difference in our city of Battle Creek and did voice overs with video of the people involved.
I am easy to work with and always have you, the client, in mind. I work on a project until its done to the customers specifications and satisfaction. I can take criticism and feel I am constantly learning new things everyday. I am proud to take part in auditions at Voices 123 and can assure you nothing less than the best voice over work. Let my voice work for you!!
