My Voice Experience
George Washington IIIs palette of voicing credits grows nearly every day. Since entering the business, he has voiced television and radio commercials, non-broadcast narrations, in-store announcements, and on hold messages for Disney Casting, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Hilton, Wachovia, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, M&F Bank, Verizon, Revol Wireless, Double Tree, Powells Books, Embassy Suites, Whole Foods, Hooters, CarMax, the Charlotte Bobcats, Opera Carolina, the Tampa Tribune, the NCAA, Muzak and many others.
George also gets to display his versatility by voicing for documentaries, such as the Fred Friendly Seminars 50 Years after Brown: The Continuing Challenge. He has also contributed his voice to the newly opened National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, OH, and the locally produced documentary "Neighborhood Stories:African-American's Journey in Charlotte-Mecklenburg" for WTVI Public Television in Charlotte, NC. An African-American voice talent, he has also been used on-camera in non-broadcast projects for Wachovia and Bank of America, as well as a national television ad campaign for United Parcel Service. He recently voiced the super agent Lamar Peters in the Madden NFL 2006 video game from EA Sports.
His customers have spoken highly of his ability to be quick, articulate, and expressive, and he has a great voice, and can be both serious and light.
It was in these non-broadcast projects that George got his start. After voicing the narration portions of videos, he began working with local studios in Charlotte, NC to get into the voiceover field. Since then, he has been busy adding to his portfolio and using his great pipes to give resonance to the many products and projects he has been involved in.
George is also an operatic baritone, and has appeared in many productions with Opera Carolina, both as a member of the chorus and as a principal artist since 1998. In 2004, he returned home to his native Illinois to appear in a production for the first time in 16 years. A local reviewer in the Charlotte Observer remarked his booming voice was thrilling from a production of Hansel & Gretel with Opera Carolina in 1999.
A testimonial from one of his satisfied clients: "After my first several sessions working with George III, I was impressed by his focus and professionalism. His great sense of humor along with his ability to handle a variety of direction and styles, make him a great resource for our company!" - Jim Knuth, ProComm Studio Services
And, from Jason Montero of Muzak: "All of the spots voiced by both George...were quick, articulate, and expressive - I can't imagine it could have been done better. George has also voiced other productions of mine and I have always been impressed by his versatility - he has a great voice and he can be both serious and light."
Working his acting chops, he is portraying Doctor Gordon Marcus in the ongoing dramatic podcast "The Silent Universe" by J. Marcus Xavier.
George has versatility, focus, and the ability to deliver what you need; from James Earl Jones-style resonance to rap to opera to your regular guy. His professionalism and skills are certain to make your project a success!
