My Voice Experience
I have taken a winding path to the voiceover world. I was student of music at Northwestern University; an IT specialist at Discover Card Services in Chicago and First Union National Bank, then Wachovia; an opera singer with Opera Carolina in Charlotte, NC; and an on camera talent for Wachovia and Wells Fargo for their internal news program Take 5.
In 2003, I began voicing with a trip to a local recording studio to do some narration bits for a First Union industrial. The gig stirred my imagination, and I began the research and practice to make my first demos. Working with sources both local and national, new opportunities came over time, and I started working on projects as small as phone messaging to as large as national ad campaigns.
Since that time, I have provided voiceover services in documentaries, videogames, radio and television commercials, in store announcements, messaging on hold, websites and web ads, virtually every aspect of the voiceover industry. I voice about 5,000 messages on hold and in store announcements a year for companies like McDonalds, Courtyard by Marriott, Whole Foods and Big Lots. My home studio is gives me the opportunity to build on my voicing successes, and I am looking to keep growing with new clients and outlets for years to come.
I am also an operatic baritone, and has appeared in many productions with Opera Carolina, both as a member of the chorus and as a principal artist since 1998. In 2004, he returned home to his native Illinois to appear in a production for the first time in 16 years. A local reviewer in the Charlotte Observer remarked his booming voice was thrilling from a production of Hansel & Gretel with Opera Carolina in 1999.
A testimonial from one of my satisfied clients: "After my first several sessions working with George III, I was impressed by his focus and professionalism. His great sense of humor along with his ability to handle a variety of direction and styles, make him a great resource for our company!" - Jim Knuth, ProComm Studio Services
And, from Jason Montero of Muzak: "All of the spots voiced by both George...were quick, articulate, and expressive - I can't imagine it could have been done better. George has also voiced other productions of mine and I have always been impressed by his versatility - he has a great voice and he can be both serious and light."
I have the versatility, focus, and the ability to deliver what you need; from James Earl Jones-style resonance to rap to opera to the dad next door.
