Voice Description
My main voice quality is the dry, sarcastic, "yeah right" sound. I can also be warm and friendly, smooth, cool and mellow, or rough and gravely. From the likable and confident guy next door to the rugged bluecollar construction worker or truck driver, I am a solid character actor who can play a variety of roles. When I'm the announcer for commercials, I can be everything from straight read to retro campy. The tonal quality of my voice is a clear Midwestern baritone, although I can go deeper or higher as needed. I primarily work in radio and TV commercials, although I have read for promos and narrations as well.

My Voice Experience
I got my start in the voice over field working at various radio stations and audio production houses, where I served as a sports announcer and acted in commercials. From there I made the transition to New York advertising agencies, where I did tons of in-house recordings for spots and presentations before hitting the audition circuit to do commercials and promos. I have also done voices for animated films as well.
My Training
While I have taken some voice classes, I am primarily self-taught. However, my nearly 20 years as an advertising copywriter allowed me to work with some of the best talents in the voice-over business in New York. There is no better training than being in the studio recording the finest voice actors in the world and learning the tricks of the trade from them. My experience as an award-winning copywriter and creative director also gives me insights into the production process that the typical voice over artist oftentimes does not have. I also offer script-doctoring services right in the booth if need be, as I have written hundreds, if not thousands of commercials over the years.
