Background, BBC, Northern England. broadcaster for 35 years, now running documentary, media services DVD production company. Voiceovers with multi-talents adaptable into Northern Engliish dialect, or light-hearted "posh" English, for fun greetings, voice mail messges
Deliivery at all paces: Driving for gripping impact; slow with pauses for dramatic impact.
My Northern English accent is different from the normal "south country" or Oxford English style.
My radio/tv production experience is an asset. I have won major broadcasting awards for outside broadcasting, documentary production and presentation, drama, music programming, including a musical drama for radio.
I have trained BBC broadcasting staff in the finer points of delivery and script writing (i.e. "writing the spoken word".
I currently run Obsidian-media, my own TV and DVD production company using my own broadcast quality equipment.

My Training

My training began with journalism national courses with additional lLRAM (London Royal Colleges) course in voice production and led to a BBC contract as journalist/ reporter. Production appointment included the above work in full-time broadcasting and production and especially writing the spoken word.
I won five major awards for documentary, outside broadcast and music production as well as drama and recognition for a programme which represented the Uk and was highly commended against international opposition.
The BBC regarded y organisational skills as an important element of my contribution to the Corporation over more than thirty years. Although retired this is reluctant and the desire to continue extracting the fun amidst provessional requirements is a strong part of my personality -- hence the development of Obsidian.

My Studio Equipment

Screenplay broadcsting edit suite with appropriate DV and DVcam in and out sources computer linked to allow transmission of MP3 files via E-mail.

Additional Skills

I produced plays and documentaries often augmented by my musical production background, which developed initially as a hobby, but became professional as opportunities arose for personal development.
I was also involved in "trailing" future programmes and worked as honorary international Media Relations officer for one of the biggest festivals of international folklore in Europe (Billlingham-on-Tees, Co. Durham England), this being my contribution to public service having been invited to do so by our local authority/council.
During my time with the BBC I learned to edit on equipment and transferred these abilities to my own company, Obsidian, in audio and video work. I research, script, voice and edit all programming.
