Voice Description

I'm told I have the kind of voice that people want to hear...warm, friendly, smooth, and energetic. I tend to have a youthful, upbeat, and conversational quality with the ability to access my lower range for a more mature sound. With an actor's intuition and flexibility, I am extremely good at taking direction and making immediate adjustments. I specialize in creating fully-realized and believable characters that range from the every-day types (busy mom, best friend, fellow business-woman, bratty teenager, innocent child) to the more "out-there" characters (valley-girl, seductress, New York Jew, air-head, martian from space, etc.). You name a character and I will come up with a voice! I am a very skilled cold reader and extremely adept at reading complicated narratives (such as medical or technical text) while making sense of it and sounding credible.

I am a trained singer with a 3-octave range and the ability to sing in many styles from broadway, pop, country, folk, classical, and (what I like to call) disney ingenue-esque:).

I am honored to be doing this work and my work-ethic is top-notch. I will follow directions the FIRST time around, do the job right, and deliver quality audio files in a minimum amount of time. I truly care about making my clients happy and take pride in my work!

With over 8 years of professional VO experience, I have been fortunate enough to work in many different areas of the industry--from national and local tv/radio commercials, to web tutorials, children's educational reading series, audio tours, live-announcing, and more. I have 10 years of professional theatre experience and performed on stages both big and small--from the famed Ford's theatre in Washington D.C. to elementary school stages across the country. In 2007 I was awarded both the Henry Award and the Denver Post Ovation Award for Best supporting actress in a musical.

I have worked on-camera in commercials, shot various print campaigns, and even done some live hosting and improv.

I believe I have found my niche in the voice-acting world. It is here that I have been able to combine my acting skills, my passion for communicating, and my "Type-A" quest for the "perfect" finished product. I love this business!

I am professional, friendly, and easy to work with. I believe in being punctual and always giving 100%. When I am not working in voice-overs, I create and sell my own line of hand-painted furniture called Whimsy Furniture. Whimsy has a recycled/"green" theme in that I begin with a used/old piece of wood furniture and transform it into a functional work of art. As a mom of two young kids, I have become an excellent multi-tasker! I can fold the laundry, change a diaper, and surf the web while simultaneously fetching a cup of juice. My chocolate chip cookies are famous among friends and family.
