Voice Description

I'm asked to "do Darth Vader" frequently, but have also been told that I have a soothing and sometimes sexy voice when speaking to people over the phone. My natural voice falls into a slightly higher range than my hero James Earl Jones, but I feel somewhat confident in the range of his work. I am an Air Force brat with no particular accent, but have lived in the Southeast, Southwest and Northeast and can mimic the accents from those regions with some ease. I am particularly fond of the Southwestern Country Bumpkin voice I can call at will. I would love to read a documentary, as I watch so many and would like to contribute to these exciting projects.

My Voice Experience

I have worked as a waiter and in call centers, so I have to develope a rapport with my audience that puts them at ease, but keeps them interested in listening to me. I'm often told I should be on radio, but the hours prevent me from pursuing that field. It would be great to put my voice to better use, though. I have done recordings for Phone Menus at some of my previous employers (Dell for one), but have not had any real experience in recording for commercials or film.

Additional Skills

As a customer service worker, I have had to sell myself and whatever company employed me to the general public. This should be invaluable to making an impression on any job sent to me. I am a computer geek and gamer, so I'm ready to use technical jargon fluently. I'm also an older dude with a pechant for history, so the terminology of the past is not lost on me either. I remember when a 'gay-ole time' could be had by all without any sexual connotation being taken, and when 'far-out' didn't have to refer to space exploration, though the speaker may have been 'spaced'.
