Voice Description

After being badgered for years to pursue the business of voice over work, I finally decided to give it a try. I love the work and thrive on the artistic challedge of it. From warm and deep for narrations, to fun and upbeat for commercials I also lend a wonderful blend of smooth and professional for presentations. Having lived in Paris for a number of years I have great fun in doing english with a french accent. Southern dialects are a bonus from having lived in the south in my youth. My background in theater has served me well in this wonderfully exciting field.

My Voice Experience

Having spent some years in Europe I had the occasion the work in various studios with producers that wanted an english interpretation in radio, musical lyrics and advertisments. Although at the time this was something I thought of as fun, I came to realize that it could be profitable as well.

My Training

Having studied theater which of course included the usual movement and vocal courses as well, I eventually enrolled in a private intense voice over class. It proved to be an important step as I began to understand the history as well as the comparison of voice work styles from the beginning to date. I found that my acting courses had become an asset as voice over work demanded more of the artist than just a" good voice." In particular advertisers seemed to often want the voice to be familer to the comsumer like a family member or friend. The voice is the communicator from stern guidance to gentle assurance, from belly aching laughter to profound emotion. It is such a wonderful form of expression and a wonderful form or work.
