My Voice Experience
A retired Air Force Broadcaster, my work has taken me all over the world to many Armed Forces Radio & Television Stations (AFRTS) in a variety of capacities, from live daytime annoucer (DJ) to news and sports. I voiced many aircraft maintenance, Tanker Task Force and other training presentations used in classrooms from 1976 thru 1989, MC'd high level change of command and retirement ceremonies, and more recently voiced instructional podcasts and been a "Video Professor" type at Central Texas College where I work as Promotions Director for PBS affiliate, KNCT-TV&FM. I also produce and voice radio promos and PSAs in my current position.
My Training
Attended Career Academy School of Broadcasting in 1966 prior to entry into the U.S. Air Force in 1967. Following basic training I was a direct-duty assignee as a Radio and Television Production Specialist. Enrolled in the Community College of the Air Force and aquired approximately 80 semester hours course work. As was usually the case, when not assigned to Armed Forces Radio & Television Stations overseas, I was in charge of Media Relations at Public Affairs Offices in the United States. Retired at Dover AFB, DE as Chief, Media Relations where our office published a 28-30 page weekly newspaper and produced and voiced a 10-minute weekly radio program, The Eagle Wing Report.
My Studio Equipment
Mackie 1202 VLZ3 Audio Console with Audio-Technica 3035 and Sennheiser MD-421 mics, Semetrix 638 processor, Sony CD-R player/recorder and Dell computer equipment with Adobe Audition software and FTP service. Also have cassette and turntable capability.
Additional Skills
My secondary career field included work as an officer in
the law enforcement career field in Ohio. Also worked at Kilby Correctional Facility in Montgomery, AL. Will do law enforcement or correctional training narration voice over work.
