Voice Description

I have a classic "FM Radio" voice, with depth and wonderful timbre. My readings sound natural and unaffected. My voice has been used on commercials for radio and TV, documentaries, industrial and training films and videos.

I have alkso done on-stage announcing at major music festivals including Woodstock '94, and Mountain Jam IV and V.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I do a series of ethnic and Americana character voices: an "Old Timer" from the Old West, a NYC East Indian cabbie, a Hindu Swami, a cantankerous old Jewish man, and several others.

My Voice Experience

I started as a radio personality on WLIR-FM in 1971 when I was 19 years old. Since then my voice has been used on hundreds of regional (including NYC) commercials for radio and TV. In the mid 80's I worked for Larry Weiss advertising (Larry created the well known "Crazy Eddie" campaign) as his creative director, voicing of dozens of major market (non-Crazy Eddie) spots.

In the 1990's I was program director of WDST-FM, Woodstock, NY's radio station that became well known around the country fopr its progressive format. I voiced dozens of commercials and was the stations drive-time air personality.

Since that time I have been working as an advertising creative director for AdComm Communications, Kingston NY, doing all radio commercial production and many voiceovers for a variety of clients from automotive (Nissan, Ford and Kia dealerships), to a Harley Davidson Dealership, to Insurance brokers, several restaurants, a hot tub dealership, and more.

Now I am freelancing audio production and voice overs from my home studio outside of Woodstock, NY, and, I am still working part time (Saturday and Sunday mornings, 9 am - 2 pm Eastern Time (goto "WDST website" and click "listen live" to hear me at those times).

My Training

I have a BFA in Communication Arts from the New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury, NY, where I taught radio studio production in my senior year and was manager of the student radio station in my Junior and Senior years. I graduated in 1973

The rest of my training has been on the job. 36 years worth.

Mac G5, Motu M28MKII, Mackie Universal Controller, Digital Performer V recording software (48+ tracks 24 bit audio), a Neumann U-87 microphone, Pre-Sonus and Antares vocal strips and Tube Pre-amps, Allen and Heath 16 channel input board. Alessis digital special effects generator, Fostex PM 4 studio monitors, Korg Triton LE Keyboard.

Additional Skills

I am an excellent, creative copyrwriter for radio and TV commercials, videos, documentaris, etc. I also write convincing dialogue. I am an excellent director of other voice talent as well.
