My Voice Experience
François Devienne was attracted to acting early on. Right from high school, he followed a drama course. He was admitted to the National Conservatoire of Versailles, from where he came out three years later as first prizewinner. He was then admitted to the Drama National Conservatoire of Paris where he went into the Louis Seigner and René Simon course.
At the Comédie Française he played Rostand (Cyrano), Hugo (Ruy-Blas), and Sophocles (Ajax). In several theatre companies and national drama centres he played Molière (12 theatre plays), Marivaux, Musset, Corneille, Beaumarchais, Shakespeare. In Paris, he also played Pirandello, Goldoni, Marivaux, Achard, Guerra, Barillet and Grédy
and took part in a number of festivals at Avignon, Sarlat, Carthage, Athenes, Versailles, Vaison-La-Romaine, Mont Saint-Michel
totaling about three thousand performances.
On television, he played major roles in Les Gens de Mogador, LÉtang de la Breure, Au plaisir de Dieu, Joséphine de Beauharnais, Maigret, Les Compagnons dEleusis, Les Fargeot, Ce soir on improvise, Valérie, La Veuve rusée, Sidorémi
Besides his acting, he created his own theatre company and produced classical theatre plays at the Porte Saint-Martin, Bouffes Parisiens, and Eldorado Theatres. For several years, he also carried out the art direction of theatre festivals in Sarlat, Carthage, Fougères, Laval, Luxeuil
He performed as narrator in concerts (CNP Orchestra, Ondif
) with musical pieces by Saint-Saëns, Poulenc
Keen on working around voice performance, he has read on France-Culture Radio, for sound and light shows, as well as for audio books. This has lead him into narrating television documentaries (over 200 on FR2, FR5, Arte Channels). His voice acting also includes corporates (over 500) and radio and television commercials.
