My Voice Experience
Adding voice talent to my resume is the latest chapter in my professional evolution. My primary experience has been as a broadcast journalist. But I've also been a radio talk show host for several years. Also, I've run a broadcasting school campus and taught classes there. I also write my own material and thoroughly enjoy the creative, collaborative process. Voice artistry is the latest addition to my career canvas.
My work:
-Voiced a series of powerpoint presentations for major CT hospitals on emergency management (Yale-New Haven, Htfd, Bpt & others)
-Live radio newscasts
-Recorded news reports
-Hosted live telephone talk
-Hosted recorded client talk shows
My Training
I learned an infinite amount about voice over work from colleagues in Connecticut broadcasting. I've had the priviledge of working with some very talented professionals and some of it apparently rubbed off!
I've been affiliated with the Connecticut School of Broadcasting for many years. My fellow instructors have given solid advice and mentoring.
I took communications courses in college which helped lay some of my career foundation.
I recently took a voice over class in my hometown. I learned how much of an expanding market there is for private voice over work, including messages on hold, voicemail greetings and podcasting. I'm intersted in all of those aspects of voice acting.
I've also interviewed many performing arts professionals over several years' time and learned a fascinating amount about voice work.
