Voice Description

"Radio Voice" is a phrase people often use to describe my voice. I have deep resonance, with youthful, smooth clarity. Yet I still retain a comfortable, average guy sound for less formal occasions. At school, I'm a popular choice when my colleagues need a radio announcer in a play or film clip or a narrator for stories and presentations.
I'm a native Californian, though my deeper tones mean I can put a rich or sultry edge on any accent from Russian to Latin. My work in Theatre and studies in England, however, have given me an appreciation for the extremely distinct variation of dialects in the UK.
All this said about rumbling, deep tones, I am not afraid of playing with pitch and style for just the right storybook or cartoon character.

My Voice Experience

Renaissance Man describes me best. My deceptively academic credentials as a double Major in English and Theatre Performance have exposed me to all aspects of the voice- and live- performance realm from the Nebraska Library Commission's Talking Book program to the working study of Shakespeare in Performance at Oxford University. Now as a Student at the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, I perfect my in-person talent in addition to my vocal work, never too busy for the odd presentation or public service announcement.

My Training

I'm an undergraduate English and Theatre major with a minor in Classical Latin at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. My volunteer work at the Nebraska Library Commission as both talent and producer solidified my professional and straightforward narration voice.
My career as a performer on stage and film let's my creative side run free in roles like macho cops, schizophrenics, and easy-going college students.

I'm MORE than a parrot. As a writer and poet, I enjoy creating my own pieces, like the cowboy advice or the Dr. Q's Fiber Cocktail commercial in my demo reel. Sure you've got that script tuned just so, but wouldn't you rather have a creative mind that understands the project?
Forget that my voice wears a three-piece suit, in person, I'm the kid who's run the gauntlet of classic summer jobs. I've been a paperboy, a boardwalk attendant, a fast-food cook, a barista, and even university medic. Sure I'm the voice of a corporate executive or a scholar of classical literature, but I'm also the voice of a guy who's had dirt on his hands and a grudge in his tip-jar.
