Managing director and associate artistic director for professional theater in La Quinta, CA. Managing director duties include overseeing finances and budgets (including securing licensing rights for productions), creating grant proposals, liasoning with outside organizations (including community groups, city government and other non-profit organizations), defining and executing publicity strategies. Artistic duties include close collaboration in selection season productions, casting and directing.

2004 – Present: Executive Director, Desert Actors’ Network, Palm Desert, CA
Executive Director of non-profit organization dedicated to connecting performance professionals in the Coachella Valley and High Desert. Duties include reviewing budgets for events and operations, managing and creating weekly newsletter sent to over 600 people, organizing annual regional auditions and helping steer the overall direction of the organization’s growth.

2006-2008: Teaching Artist and Director-In-Residence, McCallum Theatre Institute, Palm Desert, CA
Worked with schools in the Coachella Valley and Desert Sands Unified School Districts as a teaching artist for the educational arm of the Coachella Valley’s regional theater. Using training in a program based on the Lincoln Center’s Aesthetic Education process, created original performance-based lesson plans for grades K-6 which complimented viewings of programs at McCallum Theatre. As Director-In-Residence, co-created and co-directed an original music and poetry program for the Indio and La Quinta Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs through the McCallum Theatre. Program included choreography, music, singing and acting, with approximately 15 students per production ranging in age from 8-14 years old.

2004 – 2007: Board Member, Playwrights’ Circle, Palm Springs, CA
Served as artistic advisory board member for theater organization. Advised on artistic issues, created production schedules, hired directors, directed productions.

1997-Present: Freelance Writer
Entertainment, technology and arts articles for magazines and websites, including Palm Springs Life, CNET, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Film and Video and Gannett News Services.

2001-2002: Entertainment Editor, Gannett Newspapers
Managed entertainment section for Desert Post Weekly, a weekly Gannett newspaper in Palm Springs, Calif. Duties included writing, editing, managing freelance staff, working within budget.

1997-2001: Editor in Chief, DVD EXPRESS and DVD
Developed movie-related editorial and marketing content for DVD retailer website and created all-editorial website, DVD. Duties included creative content development, managing staff of 7 editors and 5 outside freelance writers, editing and minor HTML coding.
