Voice Description

My voice is clear, strong and resonant, not "feminine" in the usual sense; it is cool, well modulated, smooth. I have very good projection and seldom slide into the "high notes."
English is my native language, and I have a good command of Spanish. I am also currently studying Italian and have traveled in Italy, so can pronounce the language even if I don't understand it totally!

My Voice Experience

I am very active in community theatre and usually carry the lead role: samples are Amanda in "Private Lives;" Eleanor of Aquitaine, "Lion in Winter;" Maggie, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof;" the British actress in "California Suite." Also have done the phone-answering messages for several clients, including a local children services agency.
Professionally, I am an advertising copywriter (for Rubenstein Associates, Youngstown) and often pitch in to help make radio ads for our clients. These voiceover jobs usually come without warning, so there's little time to rehearse!

My Training

I minored in drama at Ohio State, and classes there included workshops in elocution. I learned voice control through acting; the "rhythm" of the language just comes naturally to me. (I have been a reporter and editor for several newspapers, including a stint as copy editor at USA Today, so I have a long background in English and how it should sound.
