Voice Description

Ellen developed her professional speaking skills in the health care industry, conducting educational lectures, training, motivational speaking, guided imagery/relaxation groups and conference presentations. She possesses on-stage experience community theater. Ellen received her formal voice-over training at Suchavoice and studied improvisation and voice in Chicago. While Ellen's areas of expertise include medical and legal terminology, progressive relaxation and guided imagery, she has mastered various U.S. dialects and foreign accents and has a strong sense of comedic timing. Ellen can speak and read in Spanish and Hebrew. Ellen has easy access to Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts and D.C. She will gladly travel to accommodate clients. Ellen also has relationships with area recording studios that welcome clients at recording sessions and provide timely turnaround.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Having lived all across America, I can speak with a northeastern dialect(s), including a variety of New York (each burro has it's own!) and New England accents. I speak southern (yes'm) and mid-western (oh,yah, sure);
I also do a mean valley girl/bimbo!
Living in a predominantly Russian community, I've developed a great Russian accent, da.
I can also speak with other 'foreign' accents such as Israeli, French, Spanish, Italian and British.
Being a lover of animals and children, I can talk great baby talk.

My Voice Experience

Most of my speaking experience has been in live presentations which were recorded for ongoing use. I am skilled at speaking to groups for purposes of educating, informing, persuading. I've presented via Internet web sites and facilitated group teleconferences.
I have also performed live for community theater.

My Training

I completed the voice-over training program at Suchavoice. I also possess a Master's Degree.

My Studio Equipment

Currently under construction! I am in the process of putting together an awesome home studio. I will be using Protools LE with a Samson microphone and Sony MDR headphones. I will have capability to forward recordings to you on MP3 via email or overnight a hard copy to you on CD or flash drive, depending on your preference. Until then, I have established relationships with a few studios in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut who welcome clients into the studio and will accommodate turn-around time needs. I can also travel to a client's studio.

Additional Skills

I have a health care background and can pronounce the 'big' words - like medical terminology and medication names - with skill and ease. I am also skilled at conveying emotion verbally. I have conducted many relaxation activities for groups and can speak in very soothing tones as well as speaking very energetically to motivate, persuade and engage others.
Having been exposed to other languages throughout my formative years, I can pronounce words and names from non-English languages with relative ease.
