Voice Description

For years, I have heard "you should do voiceovers". Of course, I have also heard "you should do sex phone lines" but I don't think I want that :) I can however, do any voice - chatty friend, mom healing a wound, singing a jingle, lovey wife or girlfriend, warm and deep for narrations, smooth and professional for presentations and yes, sexy and fun for commercials.

I currently read the news on air for part of the reading network in my State. It was there that I decided to pursue this voiceover career as a profession.

I can definitely do an English (British) accent. I have pretended to be British when meeting new people to see how it goes over and they have no idea I am an American! I love that! I also do a great Southern accent (my family lives in the South so it is easy for me). A country girl, A Brit, or a regular "New Englander" (without the Boston accent) are what I can offer.

My Voice Experience

My experience is mostly business and professional speaking. Creating and presenting business presentations for business managers.

I also have a one hour news show that I do weekly for the Audio Journal. On that broadcast, I do short "commercials" as well as the news.

My Training

Bachelor's Degree in Communications (Public Communication and Media) - Have on-air videos from those classes.

Masters Degree in Organizational Mgt (with Business and Professional Speaking)

Member of two Country Music Associations - won various top awards at the local level (NH and RI).

Member of Theatre group throughout the high school years.

Participated and placed 3rd in the ACTS (American Collegiate Talent Showcase) while in college.

My Studio Equipment

I don't have any of my own. As a volunteer at the Audio Journal, I am able to use the studio equipment they have.

Additional Skills

In my career as a Human Resources professional, I often use my "soothing" voice to resolve issues with clients. I use my "directive" voice when training large groups of clients. I have recorded "job lines" for employment openings at my employers, and have also recorded a demo tape (in Nashville) at AMI records. I had that demo duplicated and distributed and it did get me some music gigs.
