Voice Description

I have a warm, rich, deep, velvety voice where I have been referred to as being the white "Barry White" and even similarized as the character "Venus Flytrap" from the show "WKRP in Cinncinnati." I belive I would be a good candidate for narrations, commericals, instructional videos, presentations, news casts, and some character work in animation.

I can pull off a pretty good southern / country accent and when I can get into the right frame of mind a blend of thick Jersey accent; sometimes Irish/Scottish.

My Voice Experience

I have just gotten into the voice-over arena and landed my first job doing an instructional video for a wood refinishing company and have secured a second job for the same company. I currently work for a local production company called "Horizon Monster Productions" and produced an audio commerical for that company. The rest of my voice work has been through 15 years of being a 911 police dispatcher where I always had a captive audience. My "loyal listeners" always referred to me as being "calm under pressure, soothing, easy to listen to," and "should be on the Radio."

My Training

I had a brief session with a local talent here in the St. Louis area at the Broadcast Center where they thought I would be a talent in the industry, but I was unable to afford their tuition at the time and wound up working in the 911 profession. All of my voice training is self-taught from emulation and carefully listening to others speak.

My Studio Equipment

I have access to a studio through "Horizon Monster Productions" who utilizes an array of Apple computers and uses the Final Cut suite. All of the VO work I've done thus far has been through "The Snowball" - a USB mmicrophone and then edited through Final Cut.
