I started as a teenager in high school with the school club producing features, news and sports reports and promo's for school functions, many of which would air on the local station and in school broadcasts. While in high school I was hired by the local station for weekend air shifts.
Prior to graduation, I was hired by a station 35 miles away, starting with weekend shifts. This became 6 nights a week once school was over. I was also used to record local PSA's and station promo's as well as commercials.
Over the years I've worked at several radio stations, 3 separate times at the one that hired me before I graduated high school.
It was at a computer class at a public library where a fellow student said to me "you should read books on tape with that voice of yours". The others agreed, then I told them about my radio experience.
I did a google search for "voiceover", and have read everything, joined email lists, watched and listened to tutorials offered by Great Voice, Voice Over Club and Edge Studio to learn as much as I could.
Joined Librivox.org as a volunteer reader in March 2014.

I have a very diverse employment background. In addition to my radio career, I've worked on: a Dairy Farm, Retail,(stores of many types), Restaurant and Over The Road Truck Driver.
I feel my experiences enable me to "speak the language" of those and other careers.
