My Voice Experience

I've spent years in radio and television news, I'm looking to branch out. I'm trying many different things within the media industry. I've always done something with my voice, though up until now I never offered my voice for hire outside the journalism field. A couple of the sales and production folks at work tell me I would make a great commercial and imaging voice outside of doing news. As a news person, you've heard and seem me on great radio stations in Florida like 970 WFLA, 93-3 FLZ, Mix 100.7, 98 Rock, 95-7 The Beat, WiLD 98.7, Smooth Jazz WSJT 94.1, 99.5 WQYK, Q105, Bay News 9 (Tampa Bay), 610 WIOD, 940 WINZ (Miami/Ft. Lauderdale) 540 WFLF, Magic 107.7, Real Radio 104.1, O-Rock 105-9, XL 106-7 and Big 100.3 (Orlando/Daytona Beach). Nationally, you've seen or heard me on CBS News and CNN. Each of those entities requires a different voice presentation customized to their programming goals. This voice has had to do the news for those different audiences and is now looking to take on the non-news broadcast and voice-over world.

My Training

My voice training has been on the job. While studying communications in college, I did take one semester's worth of voice and articulation. But my real training came from growing up in major market and network radio and television, paying attention to how different voices and styles were used to talk to different people. And I've always tried to keep that in mind when hopping from station to station providing news and traffic reports to different audiences. Beyond that, the daily repetition strengthens my voice into a tuned and ready tool
