Voice Description

My native accent is British English RP, but not overly posh! I have a natural, friendly voice, and I'm told I sound a little younger than I look. (All right! 'Not difficult', I hear you say.) I'm clear and articulate without being patronising - ideal for narrations! I can bring a degree of enthusiasm to even the driest of material. And I can certainly drive the 'hard sell' if needed!

I have a great ear for accents. I grew up in London but I've lived in the North of England for over 20 years. And I can produce a variety of accents and characterisations with accuracy and humour! From Somerset to Dundee!

I've often been complimented on the accuracy of my American accents, although I've employed these more on Stage, from Arthur Miller's Mid-West to Uncle Henry's Kansas.

My Voice Experience

I've been doing voiceover work since 1992. I started to take it more seriously in 2000 and got myself a great agent. Over the years clients have included Marks & Spencer, Sanderson Computer Based Training, Tetrosyl, The AA, The UK Patent Office, Comet Electrical. My Training

I've been working as a professional actor since 1991 after completing my training at Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre, in England. My first experience of voiceover work began with Sanderson CBT in Sheffield. We worked together on a large number of computer-based training projects including the Captor On-Board training project for P&O Cruiseliners. I gained further invaluable experience recording material for Open Learning training courses, for clients such as Marks & Spencer, Comet Electrical and The UK Patent Office. In 2001 I joined the prestigous voice talent agency, Tongue & Groove and I've continued to develop my voiceover skills with their support.

Neumann TLM 103 Studio Condenser Microphone, Edirol USB UA-25 Audio Interface, Cakewalk/Sonar 5 Power Studio, Recording to a Dell 503 Inspiron with a Creative Labs Soundblaster S-XFi Soundcard.

My experience as a professional actor with a wide range of TV and Theatre credits on my CV, helps me to bring the text to life.

Before training as an actor I read for an Engineering degree at Loughborough and worked in the Transport Industry. So, while I love to be adventurous and creative, I'm very confident with putting over technical information.
