Voice Description

I can sing with a smooth, melodic delivery through to heavy rock. I have a large vocal range; my voice is naturally deep, and I have learnt to use my upper register effectively. I have experience as a radio news reader, with a mature, confident delivery. I have also done VO work for radio advertisements and promotions. I can voice a hard sell such as an OTT, fast-paced delivery, or a staunch, authoritive read. I can and also voice a soft sell such as a friendly, inviting read, or a smooth, seductive read.

My Voice Experience

My first commercial studio work was recording for a compilation rock album as a teenager still in High School. I have been in several bands over the years, and I have developed a diverse vocal range and style. I have experience as a news reader for the "Good Time Classics" radio station in Tauranga (NZ). I also have experience as an on-air personality on "Good Time Classics", and "The Generator" in Hamilton (NZ); both voice-tracked and live-to-air. I have voiced several advertisements and promotions, of various styles. I have recorded with both analog and digital equipment, mixed sound for live performances, and edited digital audio. I have also sung in the shower for many years.

My Training

I have experience as a vocalist in three different commercial bands. I have a National Certificate in Radio from the New Zealand School of Radio (Tauranga, NZ). I have also worked as a IT tutor which required effective communication; in particular precise diction, and fluid public speech.
