Drew Frost

Deep, Rich, Powerful, Sexy and sometimes Folksy

Voice Description

I sound authoritative without being over-the-top or pushy; I can take it deep as the oceans, or glide along its surface, smooth as honey. I'll make it sexy with a guy next door-style boyish charm, or perhaps it's nerd-o and dorky's game smash audio promo.

I'll maintain a professional and easy to listen to manner for corporate audio, keeping the listener interested in what may be a not-so interesting topic. I will make your message "jump off the page", as opposed to merely reading the words aloud!

My Home Base

, Michigan, United States

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Regional American:
Southeastern, including Georgia, Mississippi, Carolinas, etc.; East Coast, with Brooklyn and New York accents, as well as "Maine Fisherman" type dialect. Midwestern "twang", mostly Michigan/Indiana influenced, Minnesota "oh, yah" type accent... think "Fargo", or like a hockey player being interviewed. West Coast surfer; Urban or Street Slang.

English (United Kingdom):
Some regional England like Essex, where the "th" sound is pronounced almost as an "f" sound. Scottish (basic), Irish (Dublin)

English (Australia/NZ):
mainly a Sydney accent, although changes to certain vowel pronunciations will make it more of a Wellington, NZ accent.

English (Broken English/English as a 2nd Language)
I've based all of these on actual people that I have met, and know personally. The accents tend to work best in a comedy script. They are: Chinese (Mandarin), Vietnamese, German, Russian, Czech, Indian, Italian, Greek, Turkish, French, Spanish, Mexican, Jamaican, Guatemalan, El Salvadoran, South African, Redneck or Hillbilly, and multiple variations and combinations thereof.

My Training

Lifelong musician, I've recorded over five full-length albums with various bands over the years. I've had many, many college courses relating to public speaking, advertising, PR, Marketing, etc., and have been recording my own voice since I could press REC and PLAY at the same time; really, I have the cassette to prove it!

Additional Skills

I've been employed at a busy, takeout restaurant for around twenty years. During that time, I've had the opportunity to hone my voice skills over the phone, while taking orders, etc. I have learned annunciation, pronunciation, and word usage, as well as the ability to think on my feet.
