Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I am quite good at carrying a stream of conciousness for almost any character. I got it from my mother who can do the same thing.
I can do many different accents that are very realistic. They include Indian, Boston, cranky old man, Brooklynese, middle-aged secretary, old lady, Diane Rehm, sleazy night club owner, mafia, tough guy, gay, Dom Deluise, effeminate, Asian man, Australian, lisp, wheezing, wavering, stuttering, wheezy old man, nerd, car salesman.
My Voice Experience
I have never done any voice over work, but have entertained family, friends and kids for years with my accents, and my ability to literally shift my voice on a dime. Everyone has said I should be an actor or do something with it.
My ability seems to come from a very good ear coupled with some strange innate ability to not only copy what I hear, but to actually think like the person I'm immitating. This is part of what makes it so convincing.
Actually, it's genetic. My mother has the same ability; when we were kids, she used to entertain us with a Brooklynese persona for long periods of time. She was absolutely amazing.
I promise I can make you laugh, unless you're made of stone. Then maybe not.
