Voice Description
Naturally, I have a hip 30-something male Californian voice. I like to sound active and proud. Plenty of years hosting karaoke and DJing at clubs makes me fit right into a "Game Show Host" mode as well.
I'm strong and commanding when I speak.
Additionally, I've harnessed a soft, subtle, comforting voice as well. I dig deep, and come up with emotional stuff!
Best tip I've ever learned about speaking? Smile! You can hear it!

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I enjoy character voicing as well -- like the favorite codgy old geezer guy. You know the one, who's all #$^%! about those young whippersnappers!
And the nerdy know-it-all.
Even got one of the really annoying guy you sat next to in class that would never shut up.
British-style? Cockney or High-Class Londoner?
My Voice Experience
It was a dark and stormy night -- um, more likely not, I DO live in California...and it was a long long time ago I started making my stuffed animals talk.
At least since before high school, I was voicing over home movies and giving presentations. I've been a live speaker in crowds well into the hundreds, with the greatest of ease. I've spoke on hundreds of topics including technical descriptions, training seminars, and impromptu scenes. Gained some stage and screen acting during college as well. Since then, mostly behind the scenes until I started working as a DJ.
Now an independent business owner, I am now seeking to pursue goals using my voice.
My Training
Broadcast Television (Bachelor of Arts), Pepperdine University, 1996.
Basic Voice Acting, Script Analysis, and Character Workshop from The Voice Factory (San Francisco), 2004.
Owner/Operator of Supersonic Entertainment (Club and party DJ and karaoke host -- yes, I do sing!)
My Studio Equipment
AKG C-3000 condenser microphones, Alto 20-channel mixer, dBx Compressors, Alesis vocal processor, and PCs to record it all.
As a broadcast engineer for more than 7 years, I've got all kinds of little toys.
Additional Skills
I feel it is important to not only know the character who is speaking, but also the audience who is listening. Creating a feeling of talking to one specific person is the goal of any script. I work to find that one specific person and speak directly to them. (even if there's many specific people you have in mind).
