Voice Description

My voice is smooth and calm in normal conversation, but in excitement or in character, it ranges through many points in the spectrum. It can go anywhere from Mrs. Cartman from South Park to Billy Bob Thornton in Sling Blade. I can do almost the entire cast of South Park, including Towlie, Mr. Hanky, Mr. Garrison, Mr. Mackey, Timmy, Jimmy, Eric Cartman, Big Gay Al, Mrs. Cartman, Mrs. Broflofski, Saddam Hussein, and almost any other character from the show, with exception to Chef. I can also do Yoda, Jar Jar Binks, Bib Fortuna, Watto and other voices from the Star Wars films. Other voices include Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants, Stewie and Lois from Family Guy, Sven Hoek and Mr. Horse from Ren & Stimpy, and a host of others. I can usually replicate the voices i hear after listening to them. I have also been told that i do a number of accents well, including Scottish (the Braveheart version), British and Australian. I am very vocally adaptable and always looking for new characters to have fun with.

My Voice Experience

I don't have any prior experience in voice acting outside of entertaining friends and family or people at bars or parties. I do have experience in the performing arts, though. I play in a rock and roll band as the lead singer and have been playing music and singing since early childhood. I have also been in student films as leading roles as anything from an innocent college student to an obsessed sociopath to an insatiable vampire. I also worked at a popular haunted house for many years as a Texan psychopathic butcher. I had one of the only speaking parts in the entire tour and the scene received praise from local newspapers and radio. I love getting into a character and running with it and the product always makes for good entertainment.

My Training

I have a small amount of classical training in the form of an actor's workshop I went through in college. The course was a workshop on stage acting and therefor focused a lot of energy toward the use and maintenance of voice for the stage. We worked extensively on projecting our voices and doing so as characters. Also, on a less related note, I attended an acting class for a short time in high school before I changed schools. My teacher, at one point, pulled me aside to give me a grade on a performance I gave in class as an assignment. He proceeded to inform me that I was his only student to ever receive a perfect grade on the assignment.
