Voice Description
Having lived my entire life in upstate New York without a doubt I have a bit of a nasaly tone that I'm trying to discard, but my voice can be warm, deep, fun, professional*. Sexy? not sure.
Being brand new as a wanna be voice talent/voice over, my only recording is on my answering machine, but I'm getting help soon with a CD. As for adding a dialect, at the holidays, I apply a cockney accent to my phone recording & become "Hildy the maid. The liedy of the house is out shopping...but do leave any gossip after the beep & her "nibs" will ring you up when she returns. Tally ho! pip-pip, and all that rot."

My Voice Experience
I'm attempting to break into the voice over/voice talent business. Here' a story for starters.
Color fascinates me, all of them, their very intensities and hues. People are named after colors, for instance a dog named "Blue", my uncle "Red", a friend "Ivy". How many times have you heard expressions like "in the pink", "in the black", "in the red". Many song titles have colors describing the tune, i.e. Orange Colord Sky, Blue Skies, Blue Moon, Mellow Yellow, Yellow Submarine, Look for the Silver Lining. Ever see a double rainbow? Saw this spectacular sight after a Moody Blues Concert! It wasn't on the booking either.
My Training
I'm a classic lover and avid PBS 91.5 FM listener, truly enjoy jazz, blue grass, some western ballads. After hearing the female voice popping in for commercials many many times on 91.5 FM, I thought maybe I could do that, as a substitute to break the monotony of this one voice.
I have a BS degree from Nazareth College Rochester NY, have taken art and music electives and like to write as well.

Additional Skills
Location is important. It wouldn't serve either party, myself or the talent seeker if there was considerable cost and travel involved.
I am semi-retired, still working part time for an investment management company as an administrative officer. My knowledge in the domestic line is considerable, such as food, wine, gardening, childcare, current affairs, charitable volunteering, not necessarily in that order.
