Voice Description

My voice is tenor to bass tenor, warm, soothing and relaxing, perfect for narrations, AC Radio imaging and commercials. I can also be upbeat, hip, fun and authoritative for Rock and Alternative and Sports-Talk imaging. I enjoy trying different dialects and accents and experimenting with cartoon character voices. I spent many years working in theater and I have a tremendous amount of experience speaking to large groups of people and am very comfortable with presentations. My voice has reassuring qualities that give it an air of integrity and honesty.

My Voice Experience

I started in radio in 1984 and worked actively in the industry until 1991 producing hundreds of commercials and liners. Also during that time I did some local TV hosting and production. From 1991 to 1998 I worked as a club and private DJ, which included hosting a variety of events and promotions. During that time I was actively auditioning locally. More recently I added a complete home studio to further refine my talents.

My Training

College at Northwest Missouri State University studied Broadcast Communications working in both radio and TV. Also spent time there working in theater and starred in the Spring Production of "Wait Until Dark" as Harry Roat. Worked after college for KJO-105 in St. Joseph, Missouri. After leaving KJO, I worked in freelance video production and also as a DJ for clubs and special events including hosting Karaoke and Country Line Dancing. The past 8 years have been spent raising my daughter and working in sales where my voice talents were put to great use in public speeking venues. I have currently finished a complete voice-over studio in my home where I can practice and refine my talent.

Additional Skills

I am enthusiastic, upbeat, and love to sell. I have a musical background, play many instruments and am very knowledgeable of food products including beef, steaks, chicken, seafood, produce and dairy (from my sales background). I also have an extensive knowledge of beer including the brewing process, alcohol (with extensive knowledge if tequilas), and food preparation. My hobbies include mountain biking, motorcycling, camping and canoeing.
