Voice Description

When I answer the phone naturally many people (even friends) think that I am a recording because of the fullness of my voice. I grew up all over the USA and can provide accents, less common accents require a few hours ramp up time to get into the groove. In the past I have done Indian, French, British, Boston, southern, Texan, and Brooklyn accents. As far as characters, my Darth Vader and Foghorn Leghorn are particularly popular.

My Voice Experience

In the past my voice experience has been as a telephone operator, storyteller (including character voices), live narrator, recorded play narrator, voice over for video talent, provider of business telephone messages for voice mail, business presenter, and backup singer.

My Training

As I moved around the USA as a child I picked up (subconsciously) on the fact that the quickest way to fit in was to sound like everyone else. This formed the basis for my vocal flexibility. Training and practice as a telephone operator emphasized clear, rich, speech. Storytelling workshops and gatherings built up my ability to switch voices and convey emotional content with my voice. One-on-one singing lessons have helped me develop breath control and explore methods of vocal sound production.
