Voice Description

My voice can change to suit the requirements. As a character actor and comedian I can be warm and friendly, deep and authoritarian, or even shy and timid.

I have a 15 year career as a character animator (including Disney) and I have been on the other side, working with voice talent. I understand what the client is looking for.

I have clean and clear pronunciation, pleasant tone, and a welcoming genuine tempo to my speech.

I have lived in Australia and throughout Europe, and have learned to imitate many different accents.

My Voice Experience

I was always getting into trouble for imitating my teachers at school. Finally I decided to make a career out of it.

I started off recording the voices for characters I was animating. I've filled in for "Snap, Crackle & Pop" of Rice Crispies, Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck while at Walt Disney, and even invented my own new voices for a few tv series I was pitching.

I got into a lot of trouble when I used my Disney voices for a stand up routine I wrote, involving a love triangle between Minnie, Donald and Goofy in a "Jerry Springer" type of setting.

I also have a very professional and authoritative voice, perfect for voice over or instructional videos. I am usually asked to read aloud publicly and can 'sight read' with personality and character.

I enjoy talking and entertaining and look forward to working with interesting people on fun projects.

My Training

I have been involved in public speaking courses since I was 7 years old. My father worked for IBM and taught me much of their communication skills.

I was in the drama class in High School, starring in many productions, and went on to become both a professional character animator and a professional comedian (which is an oxy-moron).

I play the trumpet and sing in many bands and groups. I also have a degree in live sound recording techniques and have taught myself many software programs for editing and modifying audio.

In 1999 I started my own radio show with a friend. Although we were never publicly broadcast, our show was a favorite mp3 among friends. This was before podcasting though, and we lost interest in sending our shows out manually before the end of the year.

My Studio Equipment

I own many microphones and use Pro Tools and Sound Forge for editing. However currently only have my laptop for recording and there is considerable noise in the signal. I would not want to use my laptop to record a professional job.

Additional Skills

I am a professional Animator, having worked at Walt Disney and on films such as Happy Feet.

I am also a stand up comedian, having produced my own 2 hour show for the 2006 Sydney Fringe Comedy Festival. I was a regular at the Sydney Comedy Store before its recent closure.

I am also a professional singer, having performed for many childrens tv series including "A Bit of Stick" and a few others that have yet to be released.
